  • "I support a federal right to abortion and the federal government taking steps NOW to protect everyone exercising their reproductive choices. I have helped people in crisis--women, victims of violence, children--in many capacities during my career. These police-state-level abortion bans are unacceptable even if you're personally against abortion. And ultimately I want to help build a society where reproductive choices aren't made in a world of fear and insecurity." (www.greybullforcongress.com)
  • "Healthcare is a human right. The political barriers to comprehensive universal care are formidable and we must strap in to fight for long-term solutions. In the meantime, we can incentivize state Medicaid expansion by increasing the federal match for states--something that would have made a difference the last time the Wyoming legislature considered expansion. I will also fight to protect people with pre-existing conditions, reject junk insurance plans that charge higher premiums for people with health challenges, lower the cost of care and prescription drugs, and expand mental health coverage." • "My plan is to begin WY's transition into renewable energy while continuing to support gas, coal, and oil industry workers. This is not a situation where we can immediately shut that down and jump all in on renewable energy. It needs to be just as I've stated: a transition." (twitter.com)
  • "Wyoming needs a transition to renewable energy. Fossil Fuels won't last forever, and our economy can't survive alone depending on oil, gas, and coal. WY has always been a leader in the energy industry, and I believe that we can be leaders in genuinely clean energy as well." (twitter.com)

  • "I do not want the government taking our guns, but I will fight for gun responsibility: stronger background checks and stronger penalties for the unauthorized or illegal use of firearms. Finally, we need better mental health care, and the facilitation of a culture of peace and de-escalation in our communities. With my constituents helping me, I am confident we can make progress against America's increasingly dangerous culture of violence." (www.greybullforcongress.com)

This candidate has responded to a Political Courage Test in a previous election. As a continued effort to provide the American public with factual information on candidates running for public office, these archived responses are made available here.
Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
In my culture, our traditional teachings are pro-life. It is my choice to follow these cultural values. I am pro-choice because I believe every woman has the right to make those choices, and a womans right to choose should not be denied or undermined by men with legal authority or otherwise. I seek this nomination to represent the Democratic Party not as a candidate for Native America, but as a proud Native American who aspires to give voice and serve all the people of Wyoming. A womans right to choose is central to that.
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
Let me be clear, I adhere to the philosophy that the measure of a great nation is how it treats the most vulnerable. The Trump administration has taken us back decades in this regard, and inflicted unconscionable pain and hardship on the most vulnerable. No tax increases on the middle and working class; let the 1 percenters finally pay their fair share in taxes. Lets support main street not Wall Street.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Votes should be earned, not bought. Democracy is supposed to be a contest of ideas, not bank balances. The less corporate money in politics, the louder the voices of the people will be.
Unknown Position Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
No Do you support increasing defense spending?
The federal government currently spends more on defense than social safety net programs, veterans benefits, education, transport, and infrastructure combined. The defense budget is twice the interest on the national debt. It requires reevaluation and redistribution. To remake our country after this pandemic - to rebuild it better - we need to first invest federal dollars in infrastructure; we cant be competitive with mid-20th Century infrastructure going into the third decade of the 21st Century. By doing this, we create good paying jobs. We get our people back to work. Increasing DOD spending doesn't do that.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
Unemployment is now between Great Recession and Great Depression levels. What are we going to do, turn our backs on our fellow Americans and let them go hungry on the streets? Jeff Bezos and the 1% do not need a stimulus package. Multinationals have been catered for enough. Its time to direct this fourth payment to those who genuinely need it single moms, working families, those who were already engaged in a fight for daily survival and for our small business owners who are the lifeblood of our economy. Lets help main street not Wall Street.
Yes Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
I believe the federal governments role should be to listen to those who are on the frontlines of public education and respond to those needs. The federal government must be a facilitator, in providing adequate appropriations, and through policy protecting the ability of educators to deliver the highest standard of experience to all students without excessive imposition. The zip code of a childs parents should not impact the quality of education they receive, nor hinder teachers in being able to provide that education. The most important investment the federal government can make is in our children.
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Both of these are true: extractive industries have enormous influence in the State of Wyoming, but the need for a just transition away from these industries in order to address the National Security crisis and existential threat of Climate Change is more pressing than ever. The secret truth about the growing renewable energy sector is that not only is the energy renewable, but so are the jobs. Rejoining the Paris Climate Accord is the first tiny step. The impacts of climate change don't discriminate. The Trump administration is already responsible for irreversible destruction by its anti-science abdication.
Yes Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
As a society we have tragically become almost immune to the carnage. Society barely pauses for a school shooting, they have become so common place. We must pass comprehensive legislation for background checks. Responsible gun owners know and support the necessity of this, and of closing gun show loopholes. It shouldnt be harder to buy cold medication in Walmart than a semi-automatic. Let me be clear: I'm not coming to take anybody's guns in Wyoming; I want to ensure everybody's safety - including that of our responsible gun owners.
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
No Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19?
Major corporations can contribute to paid medical leave, but Congress should pass legislation to ensure all workers have access to paid leave. The Heroes Act, in its present form, goes a long way toward doing this; it would extend eligibility for paid family, medical, and sick leave benefits, and remove exemptions to the program under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. I support the Heroes Act. Lets expand access for small businesses and ensure our first responders and health care workers are taken care of.
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
One of the great scandals and human rights abuses committed by the Trump administration is the family separation abomination. We need to demand transparency and full oversight investigations into what, I predict, will reveal a catalog criminal abuse. I support DACA and a path to citizenship for the undocumented who contribute to the economic engine of this country. We are supposed to be a Shining City on a Hill, not a gulag for the scared and vulnerable seeking sanctuary.
No Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)?
Yes Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts?
We have a State Department for a reason, but like most everything else, this administration has completely undermined its function. We can't bomb our way out of every international crisis. The use of military force should be our last resort - diplomacy used to matter to the United States, and it will again. If there is an imminent threat to the American people, we have the capability to initiate a fast and devastating military response.
Yes Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
If I am elected, Wyomings ranchers and farmers wont be collateral damage in international trade wars that have devastating consequences for Wyoming families. All Wyomingites are impacted by this administrations reactionary tariff-happy trade policy. No amount of spin and alternative facts can change the reality for not only Wyomings agricultural providers, but for our entire nations: last year, the agricultural sector suffered record levels of debt. The USDA tallied $416 billion in debt crippling our farmers and ranchers, with Chapter 12 bankruptcies rising by 24%. In the previous year, US exports of our agricultural products decreased by a staggering 63%.
It is imperative to address the climate change catastrophe and choose science over conspiracy theories, to see a just transition from our dependence on fossil fuels to renewable sources. In Wyoming, our teachers hold the future of our State in their hands and tend to our most treasured natural resource - our children. It is time to end the travesty of undervaluing the contributions of Wyoming's educators. My platform includes bold policy proposals for Wyoming, including a public transportation system. In the wake of COVID-19, in this new recession, public transportation in Wyoming can be crucial to recovering the economy.
